GHL Services is a specialized underground utility construction contractor based out of North Carolina that provides a variety of services to the power, gas, water/sewer, and telecommunications industries in the Mid-Atlantic region. Our current footprint mainly consisting of North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.
GHL’s primary service is horizontal directional drilling. From small service drop drills up to large hard rock river crossings, we have the right equipment for the job. Air hammer or AT units, we have it covered.
We also provide missile crews, excavator crews, duct bank placement, encasing systems in concrete, as well as full restoration work.

Founded on decades of industry knowledge, we trace our roots to 1999, when Dennis Allred began his career in the utility industry. In 2007, Dennis and his wife, Beth, applied that experience into a family-owned business, GHL Services Inc. With steady growth, the help of friends and family, the company celebrated a major expansion in 2023; the opening of our newly constructed warehouse and office headquarters in Archdale, North Carolina.
